News: Finalist for Fabrique 1840 Award

I’m delighted to announce that my handwoven purse Corrib Carrier was selected as one of 23 finalists for the 2022 Fabrique 1840 People’s Choice Award run by Simons. Fabrique 1840 does a wonderful job supporting artisans around Canada.

The fabric used in this bag was made as part of an independent study while in the NBCCD Textile Design program. It is handwoven linen and naturally dyed in brazilwood.

The maroon and white represent the colours of Galway, Ireland, and the motif pays tribute to the path of the River Corrib.
